Hirofumi Nishizono, Ph. D.
BIO
Dr. Nishizono became an Associate Professor at the Medical Research Institute of Kanazawa Medical University on April 1, 2021. He currently leads a research laboratory specializing in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Prior to joining Uchinada, he was a Research Associate at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Florida, USA. Dr. Nishizono received his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Toyama Graduate School of Innovative Life Science in Toyama, Japan, where his doctoral research focused on the interaction between the oviduct and fertilized eggs.
His recent research focuses on the development of artificial reproductive systems that go beyond natural biological processes.

His research focuses on the pathogenic mechanisms of GATAD2B-associated neurodevelopmental disorder (GAND) and the development of potential therapies.
